Local Economic Development is in the jurisdiction of local governments according to the Law on Local Self-Government (2007). The law implies that local governments will implement programs and projects of local economic development and take care of improving the overall framework of economic activities in local community. Hence the role of local government becomes the key to linking different institutions, organizations and companies, thus they may affect the promotion of local economic development and create a favorable business climate. It is believed that its role and importance will become even more important in the future.
The most important issues addressed in the training are: the context for local economic development, stakeholder analysis, the role of the LED office and tools for stimulating local economic development.
The training is intended for employees of the LED Offices, heads of departments and other employees in the LSG.
